This month's speaker is Suzanne St John-Crane, who will be giving a talk entitled: Lessons From Alabama: Civil Warfare, Unsung Heroes and Extraordinary Resiliency.
In September of 2023, St. John-Crane joined American Leadership Forum colleagues on a Learning Lab trip to Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma Alabama. Facilitated by the Empower Initiative and Author Ben McBride, the experience revealed pieces of our country’s untold story and the civil rights heroes whose names never made it into the history books. With the voting rights of Americans being threatened again and with our country as divided and polarized as it is, the resilient and tenacious people of Alabama set an example for Americans everywhere about what it means to be patriots, to fight for what’s right and to never give up.
